 Click on the image for a larger picture. 1929 ESSEX CHALLENGER 6 ROADSTER Now is your chance to own a piece of automotive history. The Essex was built to be the more affordable line of the Hudson Motorcar Company. Having a rebuilt 160 cubic inch Flathead 6 cylinder engine backed by a 3 speed manual transmission when most of the cars of this era had 4 cylinder engines. A mild restoration was started back in the 70’s by the previous owner here in Southern California but unfortunately was only partially completed. The body is very straight and rust free and the paint is presentable for it’s age. The original wooden wheels look amazing along with the vintage white wall tires and the interior is complete including the rear rumble seat. The top and side curtains need new canvas but come with the car. Our hopes are that someone that knows and appreciates these cars will purchase it and bring this one over the finish line.
