Rare Brazilian Made 1973 Volkswagen Type 2 Bus Represents The Evolution Of Volkswagen's Iconic Rear-Engine Transport Platform.
While German-Built Models Followed A Standard Configuration, Brazil Produced Several Unique Variants, Including The Rare And Highly Sought-After 6-Door Microbus. While The Rest Of The World Had Already Moved On To Newer Generations, Brazil Continued Producing The Original Split-Window"Derived Platform Well Into The 1970s-Creating Unique Versions Never Seen Elsewhere.
The Brazilian Market 1973 Type 2 Stands Apart Due To Its Three Doors Per Side Layout, A Configuration Not Offered In Most Global Markets. These Buses Were Typically Used For Commercial Transport, Shuttle Services, And High-Capacity Passenger Applications, Where Rapid Entry And Exit Were Essential.
Unlike The More Common Sliding-Door Buses, The Brazilian 6-Door Version Retained Multiple Hinged Doors, Giving It A Distinctive And Utilitarian Appearance That Collectors Value Today.
