Underneath is the Twin-Traction Beam independent front suspension Ford used on four-wheel-drive Bronco IIs and Rangers, an arrangement enthusiasts still favor for the way it handles articulation and lift work. The 94-inch wheelbase and short overhangs give the truck strong breakover clearance on tight trails, and because the running gear is shared with the Ranger, mechanical parts support remains better than it is for most vehicles of this age.
