We purchased this car out of Rocklin, California. It is powered by a 3.0L flat-six engine mated to the desirable 915 manual transaxle. The car recently underwent a full engine and transmission rebuild by S Car Go, one of the most reputable Porsche specialist shops in the Bay Area. Engine Rebuild / Major Mechanical Work The work included: * Complete engine rebuild * New piston rings * Full top and bottom end gasket sets * New main bearings and rod bearings * New connecting rod bolts and nuts * Cylinder head service/reconditioning * New intake and exhaust valves * New timing chains and timing chain guide rails * Replacement head studs * New intermediate shaft bearings * New rocker shaft seals * Fresh ignition wire set and spark plugs * New fuel accumulator * Replacement oil line and seals * New alternator * Fresh Swepco engine oil and filter * Clutch kit replaced during drivetrain servicing The engine rebuild was completed with significant parts investment and specialty labor, totaling over $25,000 in documented engine work. Transmission Service / Rebuild The 915 transmission was rebuilt and included: * New synchronizer rings * New synchro teeth/dog teeth * New synchro sleeve * Fresh gear oil and transmission service items Mechanically, the car runs and drives well. The engine sounds very healthy and pulls strongly, while the transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. I personally drove the car on a 3-hour drive back home, and it performed very well.
