Rare Factory Original Signal Red (568) with Arabian Gray (124) hard top, interior and hubcaps. Matching numbers engine and transmission. This 1966 Mercedes-Benz 230SL was purchased by the previous owner's parents in 1968 and stored from 2009 until 2020. The car was professionally repainted, a new soft top was installed and the bumpers were re-chromed in 2024. Between 2020 and 2022 this 230SL benefitted from a mechanical refresh including an overhaul of the fuel system (new tank and pump), replacement of the valve cover gasket, clutch cylinders, transmission mount, belts, battery, rear wheel cylinders and brake shoes, shifter bushings and tires. The front parking brake cable, rear wheel cylinders, brake booster, and rear brake shoes were replaced and the brake drums were resurfaced. Receipts totaling $8,000 for 2020-2022 mechanical work are included as is the tool kit, Becker Radio manual, Owner's Manual and other documents.
