This car was ordered by a military hero who lived in Washington. Both he and his wife traded in their 1955 T-Bird to the Plymouth dealership in 1969 before ordering this Barracuda.
The options on this car include power steering, power disc brakes, 340 Formula S package, bucket seats, console automatic, factory a/c, vinyl top, bumper guards, a rally dash cluster, tinted glass, and factory tach.
The military veteran drove this car for a long time before he finally traded it in. This barracuda sat for several years in California until it was purchased by a man who completed a full rotisserie restoration in Florida. An extensive photo gallery was taken of this barracuda as it went through the restoration.
When SMG purchased the car several years ago, there was still a balance owing on the restoration costs of $60,000. SMG purchased the car and that owner negotiated some payoff before they shipped the car to SMG in Denver. The restoration included a re-build of the matching number engine and transmission and all mechanicals.
This car is likely the best 340 S coupe in the country. A recent sale of the same car that had the mod top option sold for $440,000 at the Indianapolis Mecum auction.
