1966 Ford Fairlane XL - FRAME OFF RESTORED - Red exterior with black vinyl interior Features: Built 289 V8 - 3 Speed automatic. Rack & pinion steering - 9” Rear axle - Original glass is good. New chrome - New brake pads - New Magna Flow mufflers - Power steering - Power brakes - New Radial Tires & Wheels. Interior features: New Vinyl interior - new instrument panel - New gauge system - After market switches - New headliner - XM radio with CD player in glove box - Speakers good – Heater works. The folowing is the description the person we bought the car from provided us. California car, body off restoration. Never rusted never damaged. Engine 289 .030 over, Thumper cam, GT40 aluminum heads, full length Hooker headers, Edelbrock manifold and carb. Trans C4 rebuilt with 2800 stall converter. 4 wheel disc brakes, Ford 9 inch posi with 3.73 gears. All new interior, Dakota instrument panel, all new wiring bumper to bumper. TCI rack and pinion front end. AM/FM/CD player, set up for Sirius XM radio. The car had about 200 miles on it when I had it rewired, so add that to the currant mileage and that will give you the total mileage since the rebuild, Around 2700 miles. Also you'll notice a silver knob below the dash to the right of the steering column, that controls the instrument panel lights, on either side of that knob are 2 small buttons, these are for setting up the instrument panel. I purchased the car in November of 2016, at the time of purchase the following had already been done: Body was removed off frame and completely refurbished by removing old paint ( LIME GREEN ) sanded to bare metal and repainted Candy Apple Red ( A 1966 Ford color though it isn't candy as we know it). Interior was originally tan but replaced by new Ford material in black. Seats, headliner, door panels, and carpet. This is the original engine, 289 with a 2 barrel. Engine was rebuilt and bored out .030 over, heads were replaced with GT-40 Aluminum heads, and the cam is a Thumper cam. Manifold and 4 barrel carb (650 CFM ) are both Edlebrock. exhaust manifold replaced with Hooker full length headers. I had the headers powder coated. Transmission is the original C4 rebuilt same time as the engine with a 2800 stall converter added. Original 8 inch rear axle replaced by a Ford 9 inch posi with 3.73 gears. Front brakes converted to discs (cross drilled rotors). Since I purchased the car I've had the following done: TCI rack and pinion front end added along with all new front suspension items disc brakes up graded. The oil pan on it now is a rear sump pan which was necessary for the R&P installation. It is the identical pan that I have on my 95 Mustang ( part # is the same) and the dipstick enters the Mustang pan on the left side of the oil pan towards the rear and It's about 2/3 feet long. The present oil stick is stock for a 289 with a front sump pan and was trimmed to fit. Their should be an indentation or knock out plug on the left side of the currant pan, I suppose you could install a 95 Mustang dip stick in the correct position. I never thought it was necessary. The Vacuum pump was added and plumbed into power brake booster to compensate for lack of vacuum put out by the cam. Dakota dash installed along with AM/FM stereo and CD player, car is also wired for Sirius radio. Completely rewired bumper to bumper with an American Auto wiring kit specifically for 1966 Fairlane, fuse box converted to modern day bayonet type fuses. Disc brakes added to rear axle with all new emergency/parking brake cables. This is an OVER THE TOP CAR, looks amazing, restored beautifully and ready to enjoy. Fairlane comes with: Lots of build/restoration receipts, pictures, touch up paint, 3.25 gear, case of oil, custom hand mad wooden plaque outling the build w/stand, car cover, catalogs and shop manual as well as lots of blood sweat and tears.
